Humans love dogs more than their fellow man.
Two major studies showed that mankind has more empathy for pooches in dire circumstances than suffering people, according to a report in the Times of London.
A UK medical research charity staged two phony donation campaigns – one with a dog and the other featuring a man. Of course, the pooch drew more contributions.
“Would you give pounds 5 to save Harrison from a slow, painful death?” the separate ads said, featuring a canine and human “Harrison.”
Then a Northeastern University study showed that only a baby human could compete with man’s best friend.
Students were showed fake newspaper clippings about a baseball-bat attack on a puppy, an adult dog, a year-old infant and 30-year-old adult. They were asked questions to gauge their empathy and the adult finished last in sympathy.
“Respondents were significantly less distressed when adult humans were victimized, in comparison with human babies, puppies and adult dogs,” according to Northeastern researchers. “Only relative to the infant victim did the adult dog receive lower scores of empathy.
We all grew up on Disney. The multimedia conglomerate wormed its way into our collective hearts with a potent combination of cheerful cartoons, catchy songs, and classic fairy tales. The earliest fairy tales were told to children to teach them lessons about the grim unfairness of life and how sometimes a bit of wit and virtue can help you overcome the odds. You know, if you’re lucky.
Now, Disney is carrying on those traditions with gusto, but how safe is Disney for your kids? Sure you’ll all for a spoonful of sugar to help the medicine go down, but are Disney’s most popular family films also giving your kids some warped ideals?
MDC will be sharing the five lessons this week , we wish Disney had never taught us or our kids.
#1 = ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE
On the surface, Disney princesses seem to have it easy, but most of them started from the bottom. Snow White and Cinderella were both turned into indentured servants by circumstance, Sleeping Beauty had to live in hiding away from her family and sharp objects, and Belle had to content with being a brainiac in a time period when she was only valued for her uterus. What’s the solution to all these women’s problems? What helps them transcend their sorrows? Hard work? Education? A savvy understanding of the stock market? No, a handsome prince’s passing fancy.
Most of these stories tell young women that rather than aspire to adventure or advancement, they should pin all their hopes on a rich man marrying them. The rub is he can’t be any man, but he also has to be a prince. So, if you’re a woman, your only chance of happiness is to ensnare a wealthy political leader. If the history of the Kennedy clan has taught us anything it’s that nothing could be further from the truth. Cinderella, Snow White, Belle, Ariel, and all the rest would have been a lot happier much faster if they had ditched their oppressive backgrounds and gotten a job and a bunch of cool friends.
MDC says, you have to appreciate the quality materials and construction from China.
A steamy lovemaking session turned tragic after a couple in China reportedly fell out of a window to their deaths, The Sun reports.
The lovebirds from Wuhan, central China, were having sex against a glass pane when the poorly constructed window broke under the weight of their passion.
Clinging to each other even in those last moments, the couple hurtled to the ground.
Their blood spattered on the ground as medical personnel scrambled to the scene.
But it was too late. In a photo of the incident, the couple’s naked bodies are covered with sheets.
The passionate pair allegedly moved their sex session to the window because of the hot weather in Wuhan.
