Trump’s Visit to the UN

President Trump used his inaugural address at the United Nations on Monday to criticize the world body for not living up to its “potential” because of bureaucracy and urged member nations to reject “business as usual” and take “bold stands.”

“In recent years, the United Nations has not reached its full potential because of bureaucracy and mismanagement, ” Trump said at the 72-year-old organization during a meeting on reforms.

Despite a ballooning budget and a doubling of staff since 2000, Trump said, “We are not seeing the results in line with this investment” and encouraged UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres to focus more on people than bureaucracy.

“We seek a United Nations that regains the trust of people from around the world,” the president said in his tightly scripted five-minute address. “In order to achieve this, the UN must hold every level of management accountable, protect whistle-blowers and focus on results rather than on process.”

“We encourage all member states to look at ways to take bold stands at the United Nations with an eye toward changing business as usual and not being beholden to ways of the past, which were not working,” he said, pledging the US would be a full partner in the reform efforts.

Trump, who will address the General Assembly on Tuesday, also said none of the 193 member nations should shoulder a “disproportionate share of the burden — militarily or financially.”

And he called for creating “clearly defined goals and metrics for evaluating the success” of the UN’s peacekeeping mission around the globe.

With the changes, Trump said, “I am confident that if we work together and champion truly bold reforms, the United Nations will emerge as a stronger, more effective, more just and greater force for peace and harmony in the world.”

In his address, Guterres said what keeps him up at night is the ” bureaucracy … fragmented structures, Byzantine procedures and endless red tape” of the UN.

“I even sometimes ask myself whether there was a conspiracy to make our rules exactly what they need for us not to be effective,” he said.

Later Monday, Trump was expected to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and French President Emmanuel Macron.

Diplomat Parking in NYC

World leaders may be wining and dining and … solving international issues (?) at the U.N. General Assembly in Manhattan this week, but it seems like paying outstanding parking tickets isn’t high on anyone’s list. That’s unfortunate, seeing as they owe the city more than $16 million for traffic violations, as issued by the NYPD.

MDC says, let’s not ignore the abundance of parking passes issued by the NYPD, so officers can leisurely park their personal cars all around NYC.

Now, sure, $16 million doesn’t cover much in a city of this size, and in fairness to the perpetrators, most of those tickets were issued more than a decade ago. (In 2002, the Bloomberg administration began asking cars to surrender diplomatic plates after ticket scuffles, and the numbers decreased drastically.) The number might not even be that bad if the ticket burden was shared equally among nations. But it’s not. It turns out, you either skirt the law, or you really skirt the law.

More than $7 million dollars — almost half of the total amount — is owed by the ten top offenders: Bulgaria, Angola, Sudan, Senegal, Pakistan, Morocco, Brazil, Indonesia, Nigeria, and, in first (last?) place, Egypt, the top offender, with almost $2 million owed. Could turning a blind eye to the tickets be some sort of preemptive payment to the country for graciously hosting Israeli-Palestinian peace talks?

“I don’t have details about [the tickets], unfortunately,” a spokesman for its mission to the U.N. told the Journal.

MDC has a dream that everyone’s civil rights will be protected, thank you MLK.

I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.

I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia, the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood.

I have a dream that one day even the state of Mississippi, a state sweltering with the heat of injustice, sweltering with the heat of oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice.

I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.

I have a dream today!

Bad Idea for Syrian War

MDC would like to share our top 8 bullshit statements and fake-ass reasons the United States is gearing up for another war. The recent leaks by Chelsea Manning and Eric Snowden blew up the fake Iran war that was planned. It’s only time folks, the sand is slipping thru the hourglass. Warplanes and military transporters have begun arriving on Britain’s Akrotiri air base on Cyprus, less than 100 miles from the Syrian coast, in a sign of increasing preparations for a military strike against the Assad regime in Syria.

#1 Syria has agreed to allow UN officials to inspect the site of the recent chemical weapons attack that killed up to 1,400 people, but a “senior US official” says that such an inspection would be “too late to be credible.“

#2 According to ABC News, the White House is saying that there is “very little doubt” that the Assad regime was behind the deadly chemical weapons attack last week.

#3 Four US warships with ballistic missiles are moving into position in the eastern Mediterranean Sea. If the command is given, they will be able to rain Tomahawk cruise missiles down on targets inside Syria within minutes…

US defense officials told The Associated Press that the Navy had sent a fourth warship armed with ballistic missiles into the eastern Mediterranean Sea but without immediate orders for any missile launch into Syria.

#4 CBS News is reporting that “the Pentagon is making the initial preparations for a Cruise missile attack on Syrian government forces.”

#5 On Saturday, Barack Obama met with his national security team to discuss what actions should be taken in Syria.

#6 US Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel says that Barack Obama has asked him to “prepare options for all contingencies” as far as a conflict with Syria is concerned.

#7 US Senator John McCain recently said that if the US military does not hit Syria, it will be like “writing a blank check to other brutal dictators around the world if they want to use chemical weapons.” MDC Says, Mr.McCain your time is up. Get the fuck out for harping on a military led agenda and putting innocent soldiers and Syrian citizens at harm. You twisted mental living in the past old fart!

#8 According to the New York Times, “the NATO air war in Kosovo” is being studied “as a possible blueprint for acting without a mandate from the United Nations.”

MDC says the ultimate inside statement; The White House has released a statement that says that the Obama administration has no plans to put “boots on the ground,“ but it did not rule out any other types of military action.

Article 19

MDC keeps informing about your RIGHTS in the United States and around the World.

Reminding that:

Article 19 of the ICCPR states:

“Everyone shall have the right to freedom of expression; this right shall include freedom to seek, receive and impart information and ideas of all kinds, regardless of frontiers, either orally, in writing or in print, in the form of art, or through any other media of (their) choice.” This right requires that all governments meet their responsibility to ensure that no one is silenced or excluded simply because they lack access to communication technology.

JFK 50th Anniversary

Until Oliver Stone released the JFK film, I had not found any source that remembered or introduced this little fact, and that fact is that Kennedy had proposed to bring down the ten thousand advisors in Vietnam to one thousand advisors.

Stone had that factoid in the film and that gave the film veracity as far as the Kennedy story is concerned.

To dismiss this little fact as unimportant, well it showed a genuine new direction Kennedy was adopting.  He introduced many, like ending the FED., a popular idea to this day.  The Military was dead set against the removal of the advisors, as it was their idea of deterring the Communist threats spreading globally.  After the French left and America filled the void, we were in the Indochina peninsula over rubber plants.  Until rubber was synthesized Indochina was the rubber source.

After the assassination, the Vietnam War ramped way up.  It diverted our American attention and clouded a chance to know the whole truth.  The war itself was the cover-up and that too was well highlighted in the movie. Whether it was a giant conspiracy between parties such as the Mafia, The Cubans, The Military Generals, CIA, anti Catholics, the State of Texas police departments, all or none of the above, we need the whole story.

Truth to some of us is the foundation.  Without the truth of these monumental events we end up unsettled and insecure in our movements forward.  Lies cannot continue, even well intentioned lies leave us knowing something is not right.

As we march to next years’ anniversary, the promised closely held truths to protect us should be released.  Until such time I, and others await to get our Country back.  Those thieves of innocence leave us all with  a case of PTSD.

Bill Gates Loves POOP

US billionaire and philanthropist Bill Gates is investing in a solar-powered toilet for the developing world that will use little or no water.

The need for a new type of toilet is an important part of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s push to improve health in the developing world, officials familiar with the project said.

These aren’t your typical loos. One uses microwave energy to transform human waste into electricity. Another captures urine and uses it for flushing. And still another turns excrement into charcoal.

The Gates toilet focus started just about a year ago, and including grants announced Tuesday, $370 million in foundation dollars have been committed to reinventing the toilet.

Below is a little peek of the inside view and how it breaks down to compost.

MDC says, “Thank You Bill for focusing on POOP. WE know it’s a future money maker.”

Ahmadinejad in New York

MDC is LIVE at the Warwick hotel. The secret service and NYPD are “over the top” assuming the citizens of America are the terrorists.  MDC says, STAND DOWN- and that is a cheap ass suit.

Eternally controversial Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is in New York City and will make his final address as president to the 67th session of the United Nations General Assembly—a visit that comes at a particularly tense time for US-Middle Eastern relations.

The Tehran Times reports that 100 people will accompany the Iranian president to New York City, and that many more were denied visas to join him.

Haaretz reports that 20 Iranian officials were denied visas to the United States, including ministers and top aides.

Ahmadinejad’s second, final term as Iranian President is slated to end next year.

He claims that he will attempt to focus on the non-aligned movement in his assembly speech at a meeting focused on the rule of law, added the Tehran Times—though if history holds true, he may diverge somewhat from his planned message.

This photo was taken during the 18th day.

This photo is current day. (Day 25- 600 hours)

On a magnificent sun filled day with temperature hovering around sixty and the humidity delightfully low, St. Patrick’s Day was celebrated by millions of revelers wearing emerald green.  Thousands of parade participants filling the side streets along Fifth Avenue waited their turns practicing instruments and escorted by the family and friends entourage that accompanies each participating group.  The shiny black vehicles of the Police force lined the entrance to Central Park at Sixth Avenue.  The uniforms on the officers sparkled.  The marching bands entertained and the bagpipes moved hearts along the parade route.

The first of many planned events by OWS held their first silent march and were back at Zuccoti Park this evening preparing to start anew.

A solemn event, a HUNGER STRIKE by Tibetan Monks in its’ twenty-fifth day, had my interest and focus.

I arrived at the sight of the Tibetan Hunger strike across from the United Nations at the six hundredth hour of the LIFE AND DEATH DRAMA.

Three Tibetan Monks have chosen to make a statement against the Chinese government that has tormented, intentionally destroyed, occupied, and is trying to obliterate the Tibetan culture.  After Monks in China and Tibet have drawn World attention by multiple self-immolations, events that our nation haven’t witnessed since our war in Viet Nam.  And a small demonstration is happening here.  Now the determination of the Tibetan People has landed in front of the United Nations.

Last week, I introduced myself and our MDC Blog  informational card, to the few Tibetans who were gathering signatures on the petition against the Chinese occupation, and answering questions to the few passing interested parties.  I was joined by an agent from the organization known as Anonymous, who sat cross-legged in meditation near the hunger strikers lending a worldwide face of support to their cause.  One of the women was happy to have someone pay attention to their cause, and offered us white prayer shawls as a token of appreciation.

Today, the spokeswoman said, “not one media organization has shown up to follow the hunger strikers protesting in front of the United Nations.”  She added that the hunger strike Monks are forced to leave each night now that the City of New York has implemented new laws against our “inalienable” first amendment rights regarding protesting.  They travel to Queens and return each morning.

The friend who accompanied me today said that he was reminded of the Protestant Police force that he and the Catholic population were victimized by in Ireland.  He said it felt like New York has become a Police State. He had lived through this type of oppressive police tactics and attitude before and recognizes the pattern.

The Monks looked as determined as ever, with the weather still cooperating.  I was able to ask each hunger striking Monk permission with my eyes to take their picture.

Their faces haunt my mind and I hope they will haunt yours.   The Question remains, how could these people from Tibet not even get one story in the media capital of the world, even when it is a matter of LIFE AND DEATH?

Across from the entrance to the United Nations, a small band of Tibetan protesters were in the eighteenth day of a hunger strike. Other Tibetans have recently used self-immolation to demonstrate the abuses that the Chinese Authorities continue on their country and their citizens.

These life and death sacrifices cannot go unnoticed. The eyes of the hunger strikers speak volumes. We have a hard time sacrificing calories from one hour to the next, and if we miss our morning pick me up we can’t even get out of our homes.

Yet these few individuals have put their lives on the line and their mouths are closed, they speak volumes. Can we hear their silent cry? These few brave Tibetans may not survive. As the citizens of Tibet have been put down by the Chinese Communist Government virtually intentionally destroying the ancient culture and its’ symbols, temples, and anything else Tibetan.

The Chinese threat to Cultures, threats to the environment, without regard to consequences, leaves a moral vacuum that communism can never address or replace. The Chinese assault that continues on Tibet and its culture, threatens every Country and every living thing on the planet.

MDC brings solidarity with our brothers and sisters all around the world;

the movement for a FREE TIBET.

Free Tibet….Hunger Strike (Day 18)  across from the United Nations in New York City.

If we fight for a free Tibet with unity, strength and conviction, independence for Tibet is possible. The Communist Party of China is a wolf in tiger skin. It is empty from inside. Let us stand up for the future generation. We are descendent of a same race, we share the same history, speak the same language and same blood runs in all of us.

So, stand up to support our fellow Tibetans.

Victory to Tibet.
